DAYS 1 - 2
Madrid
Your journey begins in the heart of Madrid: Spain’s magnificent capital. From a luxury boutique hotel, allow the city to reveal itself to you as you discover elegant streets, royal palaces, and grand plazas. The first morning belongs to the Prado, skip-the-line tickets in hand, walking through one of the world’s greatest art collections. As night falls, you’ll dive headfirst into the country’s culinary obsession: tapas. Led by a local guide, visit unassuming venues where world-class food and wine flow freely, and no one is in a hurry. Madrid has a way of feeling stately and vivacious at the same time, and two days here is just enough to fall for both sides of it.
DAYS 3 - 5
Seville and Córdoba
A southbound train delivers you to Seville: The Pearl of Andalusia. The first hours are yours to float in a rooftop pool, basking in the Iberian sunshine. The evening sets in, yet the heat persists at a passionate flamenco dinner show. It’s the type of performance where you feel as if the dancers’ emotions are your own and you can’t look away. A leisurely morning follows before a private walking tour takes you to the Royal Alcázar and the Seville Cathedral, skip-the-line tickets clearing the way through two of Spain's most extraordinary structures. The views don’t end there as you take in the stunning skyline and learn to make traditional paella and sangria. Córdoba adds another layer entirely: the Mezquita, royal blue flowerpots adorning whitewashed houses, and cobbled lanes built for getting gloriously lost.
DAYS 6 - 8
The Algarve
The adventure continues, crossing the border to Portugal’s southern coast to a seaside hotel and your private balcony overlooking azure Atlantic waters. Just steps away, a boardwalk takes you towards the village of Carvoeiro, weaving past limestone tunnels and secret grottoes. In the morning, you climb aboard a boat to embark on a coastal adventure of dramatic cliffs, hidden beaches, and the legendary Benagil Cave. As sunlight pours in through the cave’s natural skylight, you’ll feel a sense of calm and presence many visitors never know. The Algarve slows everything down in the best way; it’s exactly the right kind of pause before arriving in Lisbon.
DAYS 9 - 11
Lisbon
The road to Lisbon is one for the books: Under the shade of a thousand-year-old olive tree, enjoy lunch at an organic vineyard, savoring wine and the region’s best homegrown treasures. In Portugal’s capital, you arrive in the trendy Baixa-Chiado neighborhood for three nights, the city’s energy radiating in every direction. A walking tour the next day introduces you to fascinating history, beautiful architecture, and the adored pastel de nata. The evening is yours to wander freely and soak up the lively ambiance, perhaps watching a traditional Fado show. In a fabulous finale, you find yourself in Sintra and the beach towns of Cascais and Estoril. Here, the enchanted turrets of Pena Palace glow like a painting unlike any you’ve ever seen. It’s a moment where you’ll be planning your return well before you leave.

We just completed our 2nd trip planned by WAC Travel. The trip to Portugal was just as over the top and perfectly executed as our first. We started in Porto, then were driven down the coast to Lisbon stopping at beautiful beach towns along the way, then to the Algarve where we stayed at a five-star hotel on the dramatic limestone cliffs.
